Why do Express Entry candidates need an educational credential assessment (ECA)?

What is Express Entry?
A crucial immigration route for the Canadian government is Express Entry. The Federal
Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), the Canadian
Experience Class (CEC), and a section of the Provincial Nominee Program are among the
skilled worker programs are overseen by Express Entry (PNP).
Express Entry involves two steps. The initial stage is for qualified applicants to submit a
profile on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s website (IRCC). Following that,
candidates are given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which is based on a
number of variables, including age, language proficiency, work experience, and education.
The candidates with the highest CRS scores are chosen by IRCC from the Express Entry
pool once every two weeks. An Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian Permanent Residency
is issued to those chosen.
What is an ECA?
Getting an educational credential assessment (ECA) is mandatory for many people who are
applying for Canadian permanent residency, while it also gives other people a chance to
improve their competitiveness in the Express Entry pool.
The IRCC evaluates ECAs to determine the comparability of educational credentials
(degrees, diplomas, certificates, etc.) achieved abroad with Canadian requirements.
A World Education Services (WES) ECA has the following advantages:
● fulfill the requirements of the IRCC immigration program (note for physicians and
pharmacists)
● satisfy the standards of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), particularly the
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program
● the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot Program of the IRCC
● Get your education recognized so you can pursue your aspirations in Canada
● Keep a copy of your report and any academic credentials you can prove it has.
